When you feel like you have no say in who you because external forces, as symbolised by nature in this poem, determines who you are and who you will be.

The wind

penetrates your skin,

A covering as thin and fragile as a butterfly’s wing.

The wind

comes from every direction.

It pushes you

North

East

South

West

Ever so indecisive.

A column of light splits the heavens

its

pure energy

its

pure blinding brightness

its

nature unleashing her anger.

But, there’s more.

You stand there and wait,

wait,

wait,

and wait

for the impact

for surely it’s coming.

The suspense is all consuming.
